Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 May 2026

This is a clearly-templated policy for our beta. It describes our intentions in good faith and isn't a substitute for legal advice. We'll update it as BusySeat grows.

Who we are

BusySeat ("BusySeat", "we", "us") provides online booking software for hair and beauty professionals. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our marketing site, the BusySeat dashboard, and the public booking pages we host on behalf of salons.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information so that the service works and your bookings flow smoothly:

  • Account details — your name, email address and salon name, provided when you sign up.
  • Business content — the services, prices, opening hours, customers, appointments, notes and photos you add to your account.
  • Client booking details — the name, contact details and appointment preferences a customer enters when booking through a salon's page.
  • Usage data — basic technical information such as device type, browser and pages visited, used to keep the product reliable and secure.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate and improve BusySeat:

  • To provide the calendar, client book and booking pages you rely on.
  • To send transactional messages such as booking confirmations and account notices.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems.
  • To understand which features are useful so we can make the product better.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and the app working. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the service from working.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run BusySeat — for example hosting, database and email delivery providers — and only to the extent they need it to perform that service. These providers are bound by contract to protect your data. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account and business content for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep certain records for legal or accounting reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of your data directly inside BusySeat, or contact us using the details below and we will help.
